Katrina is a director and creative producer passionate about developing new work in collaboration with artists and communities that deconstruct and re-imagine the audience experience.

Katrina is currently the Creative Producer at The House That Dan Built. She is also developing three independent projects: Juxta an online creative game co-produced with Felix Cross; bioticX a VR performance exploring individualism, rewilding and climate change migration; and Salvage an immersive performance installation examining how communities can recover after catastrophic environmental disasters for Trybal Productions.

Katrina has worked as a creative producer and director for companies such as ATYP, Interplay Kenya, Information and Cultural Exchange, STC, Metro Screen, VCA and Shopfront Contemporary Arts. She has held leadership roles in numerous organisations including Director of Theatre Network NSW (2019-2021); Artistic Director / CEO of PACT centre for emerging artists (2014-2019); Director of Performing Arts at Penrith Performing & Visual Arts (2008-2014); and Artistic Director of PYT | Fairfield (2001-2005).

Performance credits include: producing the 2021 Martin-Lysicrates Prize (ATYP); directing Garden of the Mind, an immersive performance installation for Mental Health Month 2019 (Trybal Productions 2019); director Intersection (ATYP 2017); producer and co-director with Fred Copperwaite iDNA (PACT & Moogahlin Performing Arts 2016); producer and director Listen I’m Telling You Stories (PACT 2015); dramaturge of the award winning A Boy & A Bean by Nick Atkins (The Q & PACT 2014); producer and director Dance Hall Days (Q Theatre 2013); producer and director of the award winning premiere season of Truck Stop by Lachlan Philpott (Q Theatre 2012); co-producer and director Divine Places (PYT 2005); producer and director of the tour season of Cabramatta Story by Khoa Do (PYT 2004).

VR/AR, Film and TV credits include producing Smashing a film installation about artist Debra Keenahan’s experience of living with dwarfism, premiering at the National Gallery of Australia in October 2021 and the MCA in December 2021; directing and co-writing with Debra Keenahan the VR film Being Debra (Big Anxiety Festival 2019, also presented at AGNSW); co-producer After Hours a film project for Jabiru Town Council (2006); director of an educational video for Lifeforce (2005); co-producer and director an educational DVD for the Junction Works INC (2005); and director In The Swim a TV for pilot for SBS (screened nationally 2001).

Event experience includes: Site Manager for the bump in and out of the City of Sydney’s Lunar New Year Lanterns (2018-2020); Stage Management on Lunar New Year and Australia Day concerts at Darling Harbour (Property NSW 2020); Site Manager for the City of Sydney’s New Year’s Eve Celebrations (2012-2013); Coordinator of the City of Sydney’s Christmas Choir Program (2012 to 2014); Segment Manager on the City of Sydney’s Lunar New Year Twilight Parade (2013 to 2015); Venue Manager of the Hordern Pavilion for the 2008 World Youth Day; and Venue Manager Sydney site, Moonlight Cinema (2006 to 2008).

Katrina is passionate about sharing her skills with the next generation and regularly works as a mentor and workshop facilitator. Katrina is currently a casual tutor at NIDA and she has collaborated with young people at a range of organisations including PACT, PYT, ATYP, Shopfront Contemporary Arts, Jabiru High School, Metro Screen, Blacktown Arts Centre, Accessible Arts, St Martins, VCA and Gunbalanya Youth Centre.

Katrina holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Dramatic Arts (Direction) from the School of Drama, Victorian College of the Arts University of Melbourne (1999); a Master of Arts Administration from the College of Fine Arts, University of NSW (1997); and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Sydney (1993).
